Christy Jordan is Of Counsel in the firm’s Health Care Practice Group and serves clients in both the Brunswick and Savannah offices.  Ms. Jordan's practice focuses on advising clients on healthcare regulatory and compliance issues, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and payment issues, certification and licensure appeals, health and welfare employee benefit plans, HIPAA and patient privacy issues and on Medicare and Medicaid appeals, including appeals through the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor program. Ms. Jordan also advises clients on all aspects of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  In addition, Ms. Jordan has extensive experience in government investigations, representing clients in Department of Justice criminal and civil fraud investigations involving billing and coding issues, billing and payment practices, medical necessity issues, kickbacks and other related issues.

Formerly affiliated with a major law firm in Atlanta, Ms. Jordan has represented hospitals and health systems, hospice and long-term care providers, home health agencies, durable medical equipment suppliers, physician groups, private investors and other institutions that invest in or support the healthcare industry.  Ms. Jordan has also represented employers in implementing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s health insurance and benefits provisions. 

Ms. Jordan is certified in Health Care Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association.  In addition, Ms. Jordan is licensed as a Registered Nurse, a background that gives her a unique perspective and understanding of healthcare issues. 

Ms. Jordan graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif and was an Articles Editor of the Georgia Law Review.  Ms. Jordan received her B.S.N., summa cum laude, from the Medical College of Georgia.
