Lorianne Denslow is a Partner in the Corporate Tax Group where she specializes her practice in Corporate Tax and Employee Benefits. Ms. Denslow advises public, private, government and tax-exempt entities on benefits issues related to the design, adoption, communication and administration of benefits plans and related funding vehicles. She has extensive experience assisting employers with health and welfare employee benefit compliance and litigation issues.
Ms. Denslow also advises businesses and tax-exempt entities on corporate, partnership, real estate tax matters. She specializes in tax planning specifically related to health care integrated delivery systems and tax credit development projects.
Prior to joining HunterMaclean, Ms. Denslow worked as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service’s offices in Washington, D.C. and Jacksonville, Florida. At the IRS’s National Office in Washington, she specialized in tax law affecting employee health and welfare benefits. At the IRS office in Jacksonville, she litigated cases involving small businesses, self-employed individuals and individual taxpayers in the United States Tax Court.
Ms. Denslow has also served as an active duty Air Force officer, working as an attorney in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps. While stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, she held the position of Chief, International Law, overseeing issues concerning the military treaty between the U.S. and Japan and worked as a military prosecutor. During her tenure in the U.S. Air Force, she was also stationed at the Pentagon, where she specialized in fiscal law, government contract law and legislation.
Originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma, Ms. Denslow has a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, a M.B.A. and a J.D., cum laude, from American University, and an L.LM. from the Georgetown University Law Center. She is fluent in Japanese and is currently an active Air Force reservist assigned to the Pentagon.
