Matt Henderson has an undergraduate degree in engineering, and spent two years as a consulting engineer prior to attending law school.  After a clerkship, Mr. Henderson became an associate in Hunter Maclean’s Savannah office, where his practice has focused on technology-related litigation and transactions for the last eight years.  Mr. Henderson was recently named a Rising Star in the Georgia Super Lawyers - Rising Stars Edition of Atlanta Magazine.

Mr. Henderson’s litigation experience is broad in scope, but has focused on intellectual property infringement, construction, and health care.  His litigation experience has provided him with unique insights that support his work in information technology transactions, where he represents clients in a range of matters, including outsourcing and the purchase of electronic medical record software and network systems.  His expertise allows him to advise clients from the planning and Request for Proposal stages through implementation, testing, acceptance, and post-acceptance management. 

Mr. Henderson also registers trademarks both domestically with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and internationally through the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as copyrights with the United States Copyright Office.   
 
Mr. Henderson received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in 1995. He practiced consulting engineering in Atlanta, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama from 1996 through 1998. He attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a member of the Alabama Law Review, and received his J.D., cum laude, in 2001.  After graduating from law school, Mr. Henderson clerked for The Honorable Ira DeMent in the Middle District of Alabama from 2001-2002.  Mr. Henderson has been with HunterMaclean since 2002.
