Matt Henderson has an undergraduate degree in engineering, and worked as a consulting engineer prior to attending law school.  After a federal clerkship in 2001, Mr. Henderson joined HunterMaclean, where his practice has focused on Business Litigation and Information Technology transactions.  Mr. Henderson has been named a Rising Star in Atlanta Magazine’s Super Lawyers edition, and was recently named Counsel to the Firm. 

Mr. Henderson’s broad litigation experience, including intellectual property, construction, environmental, and healthcare, provides him with unique insights that support his work in information technology transactions, where he represents clients in a wide range of matters, including acquisition of wired and wireless network systems and various software purchases, such as electronic health record (EHR), business intelligence (BI) and electronic content management (ECM) software.  Mr. Henderson also focuses on information technology and business process outsourcing transactions, resulting in significant cost savings to clients.  Clients depend on Mr. Henderson’s expertise from the planning and request for proposal stages through implementation, testing, acceptance, and post-acceptance performance, management, and support.

Mr. Henderson also registers trademarks both domestically with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and internationally through the World Intellectual Property Organization, as well as copyrights with the United States Copyright Office.   
 
Mr. Henderson has authored and co-authored publications and seminars on various topics including email, trademarks, outsourcing, construction, and healthcare software compliance.  Mr. Henderson received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Auburn University in 1995. He practiced consulting engineering in Atlanta, Georgia and Birmingham, Alabama from 1996 through 1998. He attended the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was a member of the Alabama Law Review, and received his J.D., cum laude, in 2001.  After graduating from law school, Mr. Henderson clerked for The Honorable Ira DeMent in the Middle District of Alabama from 2001-2002.
