John Hewson is a Partner in HunterMaclean's Savannah office. He practices in the areas of Product Liability Law, Commercial Transactions and Corporate Law. Mr. Hewson is a member of the UCC Committee of the Georgia Bar Association and is a former chairman of the Product Liability Advisory Council.
For the past 35 years, Mr. Hewson has acted as counsel to Great Dane Trailers, the largest manufacturer of truck-trailers in the U.S. Mr. Hewson handles all of Great Dane's contract negotiations and commercial issues. He advises Great Dane on issues dealing with its distribution network which consists of more than 50 independent dealers and 35 wholly owned retail outlets. Mr. Hewson also advises Great Dane on its customer warranties and matters relating to NHTSA.
Mr. Hewson graduated with a B.A. from the University of Virginia in 1965, and with an LL.B. from the University of Georgia in 1968. He is the author of "Acceleration Clauses in Georgia: Consumer Installment Contracts and the Federal Truth-In-Lending Act" and "Annual Survey of Georgia Law; Commercial Law", published in the Mercer Law Review. He is a member of the Savannah and American Bar Associations, and a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
