Brooks Stillwell is a Partner, concentrating his practice in the areas of Commercial Real Estate, Business Litigation and Bankruptcy/Workouts. Mr. Stillwell has extensive experience representing major national real estate clients in commercial real estate development, including public-private partnerships, land acquisition, planning and zoning, industrial development and governmental relations. He also has substantial experience in business litigation, including contract disputes and business breakups. He has represented both debtors and creditors in distressed real estate workout matters. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for real estate law.

Mr. Stillwell is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and is a past Chair of the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He is a Past President of the Savannah Bar Association.

He is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Georgia and in all Georgia courts.

He has authored several articles, and has been a speaker at numerous seminars on real estate and environmental law. Some of his topics have included: "Public-Private Development in Historic Savannah" at the International Municipal Lawyers' Association, and "Achieving No Net Loss: The Future of National Wetlands Policy" at the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.

Mr. Stillwell was an Alderman of the City of Savannah from 1974 to 1991, and served as Mayor Pro Tem of Savannah from 1990 to 1991. He is a former Chair of the Chatham County Board of Elections. He is a former board member of the Governor's Advisory Council on Coastal Zone Management, Historic Savannah Foundation, Coastal Empire Council, Boy Scouts of America, and Savannah Country Day School. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Savannah Economic Development Authority and a Director of First National Bank.

Mr. Stillwell graduated with a B.A., cum laude, from Wake Forest University in 1968 and with a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 1971.
