Jennifer Dickinson is an Associate in the Savannah office, practicing in the areas of Employment and Benefits and has experience with both employment and real property litigation. Ms. Dickinson counsels employers on a variety of employment law compliance issues and has defended employers in a variety of settings, including administrative proceedings, mediations and individual suits arising under various federal and state laws, including Title VII, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.  Ms. Dickinson also advises employers on employment agreements, I-9 compliance issues; performs employee handbook and application reviews; and is a frequent speaker at employment law and human resources seminars. 

Ms. Dickinson also represents landlords, property managers, homeowner associations and enforcement of restrictive covenant actions and easement actions.

Ms. Dickinson is a member of the American Bar Association, the Savannah Bar Association and the Georgia Association of Women Lawyers. Ms. Dickinson serves on the Executive Board Committee of the Savannah Bar Association as President-Elect.  In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Dickinson is active in the community.  Ms. Dickinson is President of the Board of Trustees for the Savannah Children's Choir, Inc., serves on the board for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and on the state-wide board for Georgia Legal Services Program, Inc.  Ms. Dickinson was also recently appointed to the Access to Justice Committee for the State Bar of Georgia.  She is also the past chair of the 2005 Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens, is the Artistic Director for Ensemble Con Spirito, an ecumenical women’s vocal ensemble, and is a member of Christ Church.  Ms. Dickinson has been actively involved in the Truancy Intervention Project in Chatham County, and has served on the Savannah Tour of Homes and Gardens Board. 

Ms. Dickinson spearheaded the creation of Hunter Maclean's MRM Pro Bono Project and serves on its committee.

In 2005, Ms. Dickinson was named as one of the 40 outstanding business leaders under 40 by the Business Report and Journal. 

Ms. Dickinson graduated from Jacksonville University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music Degree where she was a presidential scholar, recipient of the Frederick Delius Scholarship, and a member of Omicron Delta Kappa and Green Key. She received her Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2001. During law school, Ms. Dickinson was the Tennenbaum Scholar, received several awards for her achievements in oral advocacy and was a Managing Editor of the Emory Law Journal, which also published her Comment, Square Pegs, Round Holes and the Myth of Misapplication: Issue Exhaustion and the Social Security Disability Benefits Process, 49 EMORY L.J. 957 (2000).  Additionally, Ms. Dickinson interned for The Honorable Timothy J. Corrigan, U.S. District Court, Middle District of Florida.

  • Representative Engagements

    • Successfully defeated petition for writ of certiorari in case involving single employee status under Title VII.
    • Obtained defense verdict on FLSA exemption status for a store manager for a national gas retail chain.
    • Represented a large homeowners' association and obtained a Summary Judgment for a Mandatory Permanent Injunction, and recovered all attorneys fees in a real property covenant case.
    • Successfully negotiated a number of rent collections and lease buy-outs for an international commercial property firm.
