Andy Gaunce works in HunterMaclean's Savannah office as a member of  Corporate Law practice group.  Andy has represented businesses and entrepreneurs in a variety of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private placements and contract drafting and negotiation. In addition, he has advised companies on general corporate matters, including governance, structure, contract interpretation and shareholder rights.  Andy has experience counseling owners and creditors of financially distressed businesses on solving problems related to the current economic climate.

Andy served in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry assaultman and, later, the executive officer of Weapons Company, First Battalion, Sixth Marines.  Originally from Winchester, Kentucky, Andy earned his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky.  He received his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he was the recipient of the Paul Cooper scholarship and a member of the South Carolina Law Review.

    • Represented buyer in the issuance of preferred stock and convertible debt to fund acquisition of clothing manufacturer.
    • Represented buyer in strategic acquisition of competitor in internet retail industry.
    • Represented seller in connection with disposition of asset management company. 
    • Represented hospital in strategic disposition of operating division in preparation for merger.
    • Advised international shipping company in connection with major corporate reorganization.  
    • Represented target in the strategic merger of two large competitors in electrical component manufacturing industry.
