Diana McKenzie is the leader of the Information Technology and Outsourcing Practice Group at HunterMaclean. She is internationally recognized for her work in commercial information technology and outsourcing matters, and is best known for her ability to provide practical, efficient and strategic legal counsel.
For over two decades, Ms. McKenzie has practiced exclusively in information technology and outsourcing law. This experience makes her uniquely qualified to offer unparalleled perspective on virtually every type of commercial information technology and outsourcing matter. She has extensive experience with issues unique to the health care technology industry. Ms. McKenzie is also known for her work in data privacy and has significant experience with the security breach notification laws. She has represented clients in some of the largest and most sophisticated technology transactions in the U.S. and abroad.
Ms. McKenzie is a nationally recognized writer and internationally recognized speaker in information technology and outsourcing law. She has given over 130 speeches in 30 cities across the United States, and in 14 countries in Europe, South America and Australia. Ms. McKenzie has over 43 publications in various periodicals such as the Stanford Journal of Law, Business & Finance, The Licensing Journal, Intellectual Property and Technology Law Journal, and the Computer and Internet Lawyer. She has been quoted over 100 times in various periodicals such as the Los Angeles Times, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Miami Herald and Computerworld Magazine. Ms. McKenzie also has a background in computer programming.
Ms. McKenzie graduated from Kenyon College, magna cum laude, with honors in Political Science in 1981. She earned both her M.B.A. and J.D. from Emory University in 1985. Prior to joining HunterMaclean, she practiced in a major Chicago law firm where she founded and ran the Information Technology Practice Group. Other leadership experience includes running the U.S. contracting for one of the top healthcare technology vendors. She has also served on the Management Committee for the first information technology law boutique in the country.
