Timothy R. Walmsley is a Partner in the firm's Savannah office. His practice focuses primarily on real estate development and related litigation including condemnations, ad valorem tax disputes, title disputes, specific performance, partitioning and contract disputes. Prior to recieving his J.D. he worked as an environmental consultant in Washington, DC and with that training also assists the firm's clients in adverse environmental matters both administratively and before various courts. Walmsley has represented individuals and corporations in real estate transactions and litigation throughout the State of Georgia and has extensive courtroom experience in his practice area.

Mr. Walmsley received his J.D. with honors along with a Certificate in Environmental Law in 1996 from the Tulane University School of Law and received a B.S. in Environmental Studies in 1991 from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania.  Before joining HunterMaclean, Mr. Walmsley acted as a sole practitioner serving his clients on various real estate matters.  He was also previously engaged as General Counsel to the Chatham County Board of Tax Assessors.  In that role, he acted as a primary legal counsel to the Board, which appraises the fair market value and determines the taxability of Chatham County's real and personal property accounts.

He is presently associated with numerous professional organizations and is actively involved in the Savannah community.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of three local non-profit organizations: Senior Citizens, Inc., The Goodness and Mercy Foundation, Inc., and Savannah Spanish Moss, Inc.   Mr. Walmsley was named one of The Savannah Business Report and Journal's "40 under 40" notable Savannahians for 2004 and a "Rising Star" of the Georgia Bar by Law & Politics and The Atlanta Magazine in both 2005 and 2006.  He is also a graduate of  Leadership Savannah and sits as a part-time judge in the Magistrate Court of Chatham County.
