HunterMaclean Launches Emergency Response Team to Address Legal Needs of Truck Accidents on Southeast Highways

February 28, 2013

HunterMaclean, the largest law firm in Georgia outside Atlanta, recently launched the HunterMaclean Emergency Response Team (HMERT), providing 24/7 coordination to expedite responses to trucking accidents in Coastal Georgia. HunterMaclean offers this service throughout the Coastal Empire and as far west as Macon, Ga.

HMERT’s hotline can assist carriers, insurers, or shippers in need of a quick response to an accident scene involving tractor trailers or intermodal transportation. With a single call, clients can obtain round-the-clock assistance from experienced transportation attorneys.

“The HunterMaclean Emergency Response Team focuses on accidents occurring on I-95, I-16 and on all the back roads in between,” said HunterMaclean transportation attorney Dennis B. Keene, an AV® Preeminent™ rated partner who also serves as a member of ALFA International’s Transportation Practice Group Steering Committee. “We can be on the scene of an accident as quickly as possible to protect the legal interests of our clients. And with our firm’s involvement in ALFA International, we can put trucking companies, shippers, and insurers in touch with highly qualified emergency response team personnel across the country around the clock.”

“Having an attorney involved early on is strategic,” said Keene, a former officer in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps. “The fresher the evidence is, the more we can do to advise our client. It’s imperative that we document and retain evidence to help the motor carrier or insurer.”

HunterMaclean’s Transportation Practice Group represents dozens of national and international motor carriers, with clients ranging from single-unit trucking companies to Fortune 500 companies. Over the years, HunterMaclean attorneys have effectively resolved hundreds of transportation matters involving catastrophic and large loss property damage, insurance, indemnity, and subrogation issues.

“We have a strong legal team with more than 100 years of combined experience in the area of transportation law,” said Frank S. Macgill, managing partner at HunterMaclean. “We’ve represented drivers, carriers, shippers, brokers, and insurers before various state and federal courts, as well as before arbitration panels and administrative agencies.”

The firm is an associate member of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and a member of the ALFA International global legal network.
