Attorneys Lorianne Denslow and Christopher Smith Named Partners

HunterMaclean is pleased to announce that corporate tax attorney Lorianne Denslow and business litigator Christopher Smith have been named partners in the firm’s Savannah office.
Lorianne Denslow joined HunterMaclean as an attorney with the firm’s Corporate Tax Group in 2005. Before joining HunterMaclean, she worked as an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel at the Internal Revenue Service’s offices in Washington, D.C. and Jacksonville, Fla. Prior to her tenure with the IRS, she served as an active duty U.S. Air Force officer, working as an attorney in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps.
While stationed at Kadena Air Base in Okinawa, Japan, Denslow held the position of Chief, International Law, overseeing issues concerning the military treaty between the U.S. and Japan and working as a military prosecutor in courts martial. During her tenure in the U.S. Air Force, she was also stationed at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., where she specialized in fiscal law, government contract law and legislation.
Originally from Tulsa, Okla., Denslow has a B.A. from Mount Holyoke College, an M.B.A. and J.D. from American University, and an LL.M. in Taxation from the Georgetown Law Center. She is currently an active Air Force reservist.
Chris Smith, a member of HunterMaclean’s Business Litigation Group, represents clients in the areas of products liability, premises liability, medical malpractice and construction law. He has argued cases before the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. He was recently included in the 2010 Best Lawyers in America listing and has been named a Rising Star by Georgia Super Lawyers and Atlanta Magazine.
Originally from Annapolis, Md., Smith earned a B.S. in Kinesiology from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. and a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law. He is the former president of the Savannah Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and is an active community volunteer.
