HunterMaclean is pleased to announce that Christy Jordan, a healthcare regulatory and compliance lawyer, recently joined HunterMaclean as Of Counsel and a member of the firm’s Corporate Law Practice Group. Her practice focuses on healthcare clients and offers growth opportunities for the firm’s healthcare practice. Jordan will serve clients in both the Brunswick and Savannah office.

Formerly affiliated with a major law firm in Atlanta, Jordan represented hospitals and health systems, hospice and long term care providers, home health agencies, durable medical equipment suppliers, physician groups, private investors and other institutions that invest in or support the healthcare industry.

Jordan advised her healthcare clients on healthcare regulatory and compliance issues, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and payment issues, certification and licensure appeals, HIPAA and patient privacy issues and on Medicare appeals, including appeals through the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor program. She was also heavily involved in government investigations, representing clients in Department of Justice criminal and civil fraud investigations involving billing and coding issues, billing and payment practices, medical necessity issues, kickbacks and other related issues.

Jordan is certified in Healthcare Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Associated. Jordan earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif and was a member of the Georgia Law Review. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 2000 and graduated summa cum laude from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. 

Jordan currently resides on St. Simons Island with her husband, Chris Jordan, an attorney with a successful litigation practice.
