Experience
Emery Lyon is an associate in HunterMaclean’s business litigation group with a focus on employment matters. Emery has experience with employment litigation involving claims of retaliation, sexual harassment, discrimination, wage and hour violations, and breach of contract. She advises clients on company policies, employee relations, termination issues, and employee benefits. Emery has experience responding to complaints filed with the EEOC and other administrative agencies. She has conducted internal investigations and prepared reports in response to complaints lodged by current and former employees. She has also drafted employee handbook policies, employment contracts, offer letters, and separation agreements.
Emery earned a B.A. in English in 2010 from Siena College. In 2013, she graduated summa cum laude from New York Law School, where she served as an articles editor for the New York Law School Law Review and was a teaching assistant for five semesters. After law school, she worked for the New York City Law Department as an assistant corporation counsel in its labor and employment law division. Emery is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and the New York State Bar as well as the Southern District of Georgia and the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
