Bob Cunningham is a partner at HunterMaclean with more than thirty-five years of experience in the areas of creditors’ rights, including bankruptcy, foreclosure, and workouts; commercial transactions; residential real estate closings; and small business formation and management.
Bob began his legal career in Brunswick in 1978, following graduation from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. He worked as a sole practitioner for many years prior to merging his practice and specialty areas into the framework of a multi-office firm.
He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the State Bar of Georgia’s Bankruptcy, Creditor’s Rights, and Real Property Sections. He is past president of the Brunswick-Glynn County Bar Association and a board member of the Coastal Bankruptcy Law Institute, for which he often volunteers as a seminar presenter. He serves on the Bankruptcy Lawyer Advisory Committee of the Southern District of Georgia and is a Master of the Bench of the Georgia Bankruptcy American Inn of Court.
An Atlanta native, Bob earned a B.A. from Davidson College in 1974. He is married and has three children. He serves as legal advisor to several area nonprofit organizations. A charter member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Frederica, he has led a weekly men’s Bible study for over eighteen years, was past president of the Kiwanis Club of Brunswick where he remains an active member, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Georgia Coast Rail-Trail, Inc.
