Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools School Board President Dr. Joe Buck and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Thomas B. Lockamy, Jr.

“Improving our Public Schools: An Update on the Passport to Excellence” the tenth discussion in our ongoing series of Savannah Critical Issues Forums.

Joe Buck and Tom Lockamy provided timely insight into the status of education in Savannah and Chatham County. They discussed recent improvements in local public schools and how community leaders can support those efforts.

Dr. Lockamy has served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System since 2005 and has created an inclusive model of school-community interaction during his tenure.

A former Armstrong Atlantic State University vice president, Dr. Buck has served as School Board President since 2006 and has a Doctor of Education from the University of Georgia.
