Legal Awareness in the Workplace: Developing an In-Depth Understanding of the FMLA

Georgia Southern University is offering Human Resources (HR) seminars at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah and at HunterMaclean‘s Brunswick office, beginning in February and continuing throughout May 2015. The course instructors are partner attorneys in the Savannah office of HunterMaclean.

The second seminar in the series, Legal Awareness in the Workplace (LAW) 127: Developing an In-Depth Understanding of the FMLA, will be presented by attorney Wade Herring on Tuesday, March 10, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at HunterMaclean Brunswick. Wade will help participants develop a thorough understanding of the intricacies of the Family and Medical Leave Act and how it affects their firm. Through the seminar, attendees will learn strategies for dealing with complicated employee leave issues.

Georgia Southern University is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP and the SHRM-SCP. Upon completion of the seminar, attendees will receive 1.5 credit hours toward a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) re-certification that complies with the rules of the Human Resources Certification Institute.
