Legal Awareness in the Workplace: Social Media Use – What Employers Should Know

Georgia Southern University is offering Human Resources (HR) seminars at the Coastal Georgia Center in Savannah and at HunterMaclean‘s Brunswick office, beginning in February and continuing throughout May 2015. The course instructors are partner attorneys in the Savannah office of HunterMaclean.

The third seminar in the series, Legal Awareness in the Workplace (LAW) 123: Social Media Use – What Employers Should Know, will be presented by attorney Shawn Kachmar on Tuesday, April 21, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., at the Coastal Georgia Center. Shawn will give a practical review of applicable statutes and regulations to help participants choose policies for their firms, and how to cover the risks and rules of social media in a work place setting.

Georgia Southern University is recognized by SHRM to offer Professional Development Credits (PDCs) for the SHRM-CP and the SHRM-SCP. Upon completion of the seminar, attendees will receive 1.5 credit hours toward a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), or Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) re-certification that complies with the rules of the Human Resources Certification Institute.
