Featuring Congressman Jack Kingston

On Monday, November 14, HunterMaclean hosted a special Legislative Update with Congressman Jack Kingston, the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 1st Congressional District. This event marked the 15th discussion in our ongoing series of Savannah Critical Issues Forums.

A member of the House Appropriations Committee, Congressman Kingston serves on the Defense Subcommittee, which oversees all military-based funding, and is the chairman of the Agriculture Subcommittee, which oversees all agriculture-related funding. In recognition of his exceptional service and fiscal responsibility, he was recently appointed to serve on the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Subcommittee.

Repeatedly named a “Taxpayer’s Hero” and “Guardian of Small Business,” Congressman Kingston has been honored with the Watchdog of the Treasury Award and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Spirit of Enterprise Award. He proudly resides in Savannah with his wife, Libby, and has four children.

Since its inception, the Critical Issues Forum has united area business leaders and political officials to develop solutions to important community challenges in areas such as transportation, education and economic development.
