Attorney Joseph P. Strength Joins HunterMaclean

HunterMaclean, a leading business law firm with offices in Brunswick and Savannah, is pleased to announce that Joseph “Joey” F. Strength has recently joined the firm as a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group.

Strength practices in the areas of real estate and development law and has extensive experience in a variety of real estate related matters. He represents corporate developers as well as individual owners in the purchase and sale of commercial and residential properties, represents borrowers and lenders in secured transactions, represents property owners in ad valorem tax appeals, guides clients through conservation projects and like-kind real estate exchanges, and assists developers with condominium, subdivision, retail, and hospitality development, as well as many other real estate transactions.

“Joey has built a highly-regarded practice in Brunswick and the Golden Isles,” said Frank Macgill, HunterMaclean’s managing partner. “His considerable expertise will be a tremendous asset to the firm and our clients.”

Strength is active in the Brunswick and St. Simons Island community and currently serves on the Brunswick Downtown Development Authority and the board of directors for the Golden Isles Youth Orchestra. He previously served on the boards of the United Way of Coastal Georgia, the City of Brunswick Audit Committee, the St. Simons Land Trust, Frederica Academy, and St. Marks Towers.

Strength has been rated 5.0/AV, the highest possible rating, by Martindale-Hubbell peer-review. He has been recognized by the Golden Isles Association of Realtors for his work within the real estate industry and by the St. Simons Land Trust for his support of conservation efforts on St. Simons Island. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the State Bar of Alabama, Dixie Land Title Association, and the American Land Title Association.

Strength attended the University of Alabama and graduated with honors from both the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Law. Strength entered the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s Corps following law school, where he served in Ft. Hood, Texas as a legal assistance attorney, military prosecutor, and a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas.

He is married to the Reverend Deanie Strength, and they have two children.
