March 24, 2022

Sarah H. Lamar was a panelist for this segment at the ALFA International 2022 Workers’ Compensation Seminar in Savannah, Georgia, on March 24, 2022.

March 2020 through the present was filled with many unforeseen challenges for businesses and individuals. At the outset, we were preparing for short-term closures and transitioning to a virtual/modified workplace, but over a full year later many business operations are changed forever. COVID’s impact on business operations, more specifically risk and workers’ compensation plans, has been diverse and significant. What will be the unintended consequences of these changes?

This panel segment discussed employers’ COVID response experiences and the future impact of COVID on our workplace and risk programs. It also identified “best practices” learned from this pandemic experience.
