Information Technology Attorney Milton L. Petersen Joins HunterMaclean as Partner in IT Practice Group

Accomplished attorney Milton L. Petersen recently joined HunterMaclean as a partner and member of the firm’s Information Technology Practice Group.

A leading information technology attorney, Petersen has a successful, established practice, with more than 10 years of experience in the area of information technology, healthcare technology, and outsourcing. Before joining HunterMaclean, he was a partner at a major law firm in Chicago, where he counseled public and private sector clients on a wide variety of IT-related transactions and issues. Over the years, his clients have ranged from technology start-ups to Fortune 100 companies.

“Milt is an outstanding attorney with exceptional knowledge of information technology law,” said Diana J. P. McKenzie, the leader of HunterMaclean’s Information Technology Practice Group and a former colleague of Petersen’s in Chicago. “We are fortunate to have Milt on our team. Petersen has published articles in the Intellectual Property and Technology Law Journal, Journal of Healthcare Information Management, and Executive Counsel. He has also given presentations about information technology law at various conferences across the country.

Petersen earned a J.D. cum laude from The University of Michigan Law School, where he received a Darrow Scholarship and served as executive technology editor of the Michigan Telecommunications and Technology Law Review. Prior to law school, he worked in information technology for more than a decade.

He also has an M.S. from the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, Minnesota and a B.S. from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Petersen recently relocated from Chicago and resides in Savannah.
