HunterMaclean’s opportunity zone practice group represents taxpayers, property owners, qualified opportunity funds, and operating businesses seeking to take advantage of the benefits of the Investing in Opportunity Act, enacted as a part of the 2017 Tax Cut and Jobs Act. The members of the practice group have monitored the legislation and served on a national working group of attorneys, accountants, developers, and other professionals who have collaborated to provide input during the regulatory process.

HunterMaclean’s opportunity zone team is comprised of attorneys from our tax, corporate, and real estate groups. We are actively working with several clients considering how they might benefit from the program, from individual taxpayers looking to create a self-directed opportunity fund to syndicated fund managers.
