HunterMaclean represents Southeast Georgia Health System – a major non-profit healthcare system in Brunswick, Georgia – on a wide range of issues including corporate compliance, Certificate of Need (CON), IT, medical malpractice defense, employment matters, bond financing and real estate transactions.
Most recently, Firm partners Ben Hartman and Adam Kirk joined forces to spearhead a landmark multi-million-dollar New Markets Tax Credit Program deal, which provides federal tax credit incentives to investors supporting community development, for Southeast Georgia Health System.
This innovative tax credit – the first of its kind in Brunswick – is designed to spur revitalization efforts in low-income census tracts. Through creative financing, HunterMaclean successfully secured seven years of tax credits, offering significant savings for the Health System’s new Medical Office Building and Community Care Center.
Southeast Georgia Health System has proudly served the Brunswick and the Golden Isles since 1888. With the New Markets Tax Credit in place, Southeast Georgia Health System can allocate additional resources to its mission, providing top-quality health care and helping those in need in the community for many years to come.
