HunterMaclean proudly sponsors Armstrong Atlantic State University’s Moot Court Team, making it possible for Savannah-area undergraduates to compete and win at regional and national tournaments.
Thanks to the Firm’s support, the Armstrong team earned first place honors at the American Collegiate Moot Court Association’s National Tournament at Tulane University Law School in 2011. The Armstrong team featuring junior LaRon Dunham and senior William Grimm won first place in the written competition, beating out 19 other collegiate teams from across the country.
In 2007, an Armstrong team was named American Collegiate Moot Court national champions. The moot court team also earned the title of Southeast Regional Champions in 2004 and 2006.
We’re delighted to support the hard-working moot court students at Armstrong Atlantic State University,” said Andrew H. Ernst, a partner at HunterMaclean. “It’s extremely rewarding to see many of these talented students go on to excel at law school and to pursue careers as attorneys.”
Over the years, the Moot Court program has made a positive impact on Armstrong students interested in the law and has inspired a number of undergraduates to attend law school upon graduation.
“HunterMaclean’s support of our program has been instrumental in the personal and educational development of numerous students, including myself,” said Armstrong graduate and award-winning moot court student Phil Parham. “No class has affected my decision to become a lawyer more than Moot Court. It has taught me to use my legal research to develop a professional, cogent legal argument and to employ logical, objective and critical analysis when confronted with complex problems.”
