Attorney Bates Lovett Named to Board of Trustees for the Savannah Technical College Foundation

Attorney Bates Lovett, a partner at HunterMaclean, has been selected to serve on the Board of Trustees for the Savannah Technical College Foundation.
“Savannah Tech has the distinction of being the region’s top technical college,” he said. “I’m honored to serve on this prestigious board and to help Savannah Tech achieve and exceed its goals for the future.”
Named a Super Lawyers “Rising Star,” Lovett is an experienced trial attorney who advises, represents, and litigates on behalf of various HunterMaclean clients. He dedicates the majority of his practice to defending companies, both local and national, in lawsuits filed throughout the southeastern United States.
An active community volunteer, Lovett also serves on the board of directors for Coastal Children's Advocacy Center, donates his time to Junior Achievement and is a coach for the Georgia High School Mock Trial Competition. He also served as co-chairman of the Attorney Division for the
2007-2008 United Way of the Coastal Empire campaign.
Lovett earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a J.D. from University of Georgia. Prior to joining the firm, he worked as an assistant district attorney for the Cobb County Crimes Against Women and Children Unit in Atlanta, where he prosecuted murder, rape, cruelty to children and aggravated stalking felony cases. He also served as assistant district attorney in Rockdale County, where he was the domestic violence prosecutor.
