Laura W. Gieseke is of counsel in HunterMaclean’s Savannah office. She is a seasoned tax and corporate attorney with over a decade of experience advising companies on complex tax matters related to mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and corporate restructurings.

Before joining HunterMaclean, Laura spent seven years in the federal income tax section at Vinson & Elkins LLP, where she played a key role in major initial public offerings and intricate transactions for companies such as Energy Transfer, MPLX LP, Plains All American Pipeline, Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, and Jonah Energy.

In 2019, Laura transitioned to Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, serving as tax and corporate counsel for its master limited partnership, Western Midstream Partners, LP. In this role, she managed a broad spectrum of matters, including tax strategy, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and labor and employment.

Laura earned her undergraduate degree from New York University and her J.D. from Louisiana State University’s Paul M. Hebert Law Center, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif.
