Zach is an associate in HunterMaclean’s Brunswick office, where he practices in the real estate group. Prior to joining HunterMaclean, Zach practiced as an associate at a St. Simons Island civil litigation firm handling primarily business disputes. Zach previously served as assistant counsel for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, where he advised on a wide array of Department matters. He has experience in coastal permitting, government procurement and contracting, government affairs and administrative law, condominium and homeowners’ associations, and civil rights laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act. Zach is licensed to practice before all Georgia Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.
Zach earned his B.S. in political science and religion from Emory University and his J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law. Throughout law school, he worked as a legislative and legal aide for members of the Georgia House of Representatives and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
Zach currently serves as a member of the Georgia Coastal Marshlands Protection and Shore Protection Committees, where he hears permit applications for coastal projects and activities falling under the jurisdictions of the Coastal Marshlands Protection and Shore Protection Acts. Zach also serves on the Citizens Advisory Committee of the Brunswick Area Transportation Study. He is a graduate of Leadership Glynn and is active in the Young Lawyers Division of the Glynn County Bar Association, the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce, the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Simons Land Trust.
