SAVANNAH, Ga — HunterMaclean attorney Harold Yellin has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the newly formed Savannah Music Commission, a group established through the recent passage of House Bill 762.
Signed into law by Governor Brian Kemp on May 1, 2025, HB 762 established a public body to champion Savannah’s music industry by promoting local events, supporting musicians, and encouraging collaboration among artists, venues, and the broader creative community.
The nine-member body includes a diverse mix of professionals representing various corners of the city’s music and entertainment landscape:
- State Representative Carl Gilliard (D‑Savannah)
- Mary Dugas – Savannah Music Collective
- Matt Campbell – B.I.G. Entertainment Network
- Dinah Gretsch – Gretsch Company
- William Austin Smith – Composer
- Brian Hudson – Georgia Music Partners
- Harold Yellin – HunterMaclean
- Monty Jones, Jr. – Enmarket Arena
- Trey Myers – Turnipblood Entertainment
Yellin has been active in Savannah’s music community for years. He currently serves as secretary of the board of the Savannah Music Festival and previously served as board chair. His longstanding involvement in the local arts scene brings valuable perspective to the commission’s work supporting Savannah’s music culture and creating new opportunities for growth.
The commission is tasked with helping shape policy, partnerships, and opportunities that strengthen Savannah’s music ecosystem.
Its work will include supporting music education, expanding live performance opportunities, and reinforcing the city’s network of independent venues and studios. It also aims to strengthen connections between the music and film industries.
As Savannah’s reputation as a music hub continues to grow, the commission will focus on honoring the city’s musical heritage while attracting new talent, events, and investment.
