Deal or No Deal: How Attorneys Work to Keep Deals on Track While Protecting Their Client’s Best Interest

April 15, 2010

Presented at the ICSC Savannah Next Generation Program & Reception in Savannah, Georgia, on April 15, 2010. A HunterMaclean attorney participated as a panelist.

The event, a mock debate between two attorneys in their attempt to solidify a deal, consisted of a live negotiation between a national retailer’s attorney and the local landlord’s attorney. This lively interaction commenced from a “less-than-air-tight” LOI, providing the attorneys room to work through several key hot-button issues found in many of today’s leases. The panelists actively negotiated towards a deal and took time to explain the legal ramifications to protecting his or her client’s best interest.

Moderator:
Doug Carroll, Garfunkel Development Corp.

Jon Neville, ICSC Georgia Next Generation Chair, Arnall Golden Gregory, LLP – Atlanta, GA
