April 15, 2021

January’s changing of the guard in Washington means new (and some familiar) ideas about workplace laws and regulations. This presentation by Sarah H. Lamar for SHRM Savannah highlighted the changes made under the Biden administration and what can be expected over the next four years. Areas discussed included the gig economy, wage and hour, LGBT rights, and paid leave, among others.

Sarah is a partner at HunterMaclean who practices in the area of employment law. She has experience representing employers in employment litigation in state and federal courts regarding discrimination, harassment, wage-hour, breach of contract, and tort claims. She also conducts in-house training for employers and advises clients on a variety of employment law issues. She received her B.A. from Yale University and her J.D. from Emory University. Before private practice, she was a law clerk to the Honorable Richard B. Kellam, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Virginia.

For ten years, Sarah was the Chair/Co-Chair of the State of GA SHRM Government Affairs Committee. She is also the past chair of ALFA International, a global legal networking organization. Sarah has been named one of the “Best Lawyers” in Labor and Employment Law and a Georgia Super Lawyer. She is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell, and the highly competitive Chambers USA legal directory highlights Sarah in its Georgia Employment Law rankings.
