Frank S. Macgill Named Managing Partner At HunterMaclean

The partners at HunterMaclean, a leading law firm in Savannah, Ga., recently elected Administrative Partner and tax attorney Frank S. Macgill to serve as the firm’s Managing Partner for a three-year term.

Macgill will provide long-term vision and experienced leadership for HunterMaclean. He succeeds John M. Tatum, who served as Managing Partner for 12 years. Macgill served on the management committee with Tatum for three years, helping to ensure a smooth planned transition for the firm’s senior management. Additional members of HunterMaclean’s management team include Harold Yellin, Wade Herring and Kirby Mason.

Macgill has been repeatedly named a Georgia Super Lawyer and honored as one of the Best Lawyers in America from 2007 through 2010. A longtime partner in the Savannah office of HunterMaclean, Macgill practices in the areas of Trusts and Estates, Taxation, Tax-Exempt Organizations and Corporate Law.

Macgill graduated from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction in Accounting and earned a J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law as well as an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University.

Macgill is admitted to practice in the Superior Court of Chatham County and United States Tax Court. He is a member of the Savannah Bar Association and previously served on the Executive Board of its Younger Lawyers Section.

This accomplished attorney is a member and former President of the Savannah Estate Planning Council and served on the Board of Directors of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys. His community involvement also includes serving as a member and former Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Savannah Fund for Excellence in Public Education, Inc.
