The U.S. News – Best Lawyers Law Firm rankings evaluated firms across the United States using a range of objective data as well as individual assessments from more than 6,000 clients, including Fortune 100 companies, private practice lawyers and law firm employees. The report includes rankings of law firms in various national practice areas in approximately 175 metropolitan areas.

Criteria by which clients and peers were asked to evaluate firms included areas such as responsiveness, understanding of a business and its needs, cost-effectiveness, integrity and civility, as well as whether they would refer a matter to the firm and whether they consider the firm a worthy competitor.

U.S.News & World Report will feature the national rankings in its special Money issue, on newsstands on November 15. The complete rankings are also posted online and will be published in the second annual Best Law Firms publication, which will be sent to 58,000 leading lawyers and 30,000 general counsel attorneys.

“The fact that this survey is based upon client and peer evaluations makes this honor all the more meaningful,” said Macgill. “Our attorneys work hard for our clients and it shows.”
