HunterMaclean Selected as Go-To Law Firm For Financial Services Companies

June 19, 2007

Corporate Counsel magazine recently chose HunterMaclean, a leading law firm headquartered in Savannah, as a Go-To Law Firm for the nation’s leading financial services companies.

Nominated for its excellent track record and extensive legal expertise in litigation, HunterMaclean will be recognized in a new national reference guide that will be distributed to in-house law departments at the nation’s leading financial services companies, reaching 10,000 general counsel, as well as all Fortune-1000 Financial Services Companies. The guide will also be available online at www.law.com.

“It is an honor to be chosen as one of the best law firms in the country by the financial services industry,” said HunterMaclean managing partner John M. Tatum. “Our attorneys work hard to represent our clients in the best way possible, and we are proud that our clients have recognized that dedication.”

The reference guide was developed in response to a research study of Corporate Counsel readers that revealed that in-house legal department information on the financial services industry was a top priority of respondents.

“Go-To Law Firms” were identified through research conducted by ALM, a leading integrated media company serving legal, real estate, financial and business professionals through award-winning publications, events and online properties such as The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel, Real Estate Forum, LegalTech, Insight Information, GlobeSt.com and Law.com.

Researchers asked general counsel at the leading financial services companies which outside law firms they turn to for assistance. ALM’s research department also investigated and gathered data on financial services companies’ “Go-To Law Firms” from various public records resources including court dockets and securities filings, as well as legal and business publications, including The American Lawyer. After a lengthy and rigorous process, only the strongest firms made it to the top of the list.

The guide will premiere this summer and will include detailed profiles and contact information for general counsel at these corporations, as well as listings of their current outside “Go-To Law Firms” in various practice areas, including litigation, securities, transactions, compliance and intellectual property.
