Will Hughes is an associate in HunterMaclean’s Real Estate practice group.
Before joining HunterMaclean, Will worked as an associate attorney with Slutzky Wolfe & Bailey, LLP in Atlanta, where he managed commercial real estate transactions from title review and document drafting to courthouse examinations and closings. He also served in the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office, first as an enforcement attorney in the Securities, Charities, and Cemeteries Division and later as Deputy Counsel to the Secretary, assisting staff and general counsel during the legislative session. His early legal work included coordinating multi-jurisdictional settlements with crypto exchanges and reviewing securities filings.
Will earned his J.D. from the Georgia State University College of Law night program, and he holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Mississippi, where he received a four-year Academic Excellence Scholarship.
While in law school, he worked for the Georgia Secretary of State and in the Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, helping individuals resolve disputes with the IRS. Prior to law school, he held roles in state and federal government, including legislative work with the Georgia Secretary of State and internships on Capitol Hill.
Outside of the office, Will is a competitive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu purple belt and enjoys saltwater fishing and bowhunting.
