Sarah Whalen is an associate in HunterMaclean’s Savannah office, where she practices in the firm’s Corporate Practice Group.

A summa cum laude graduate of Mercer University, Sarah earned dual B.A. degrees in Law, Public Policy & Ethics and Sociology in 2022. As an undergraduate, she was president of the Order of Omega Honor Society, and executive secretary of Pi Sigma Alpha. She was also recognized with the Alpha Kappa Delta Senior Award for Academic Achievement in Sociology and named Outstanding Senior in Law and Public Policy.

Sarah earned her J.D., cum laude, from Mercer University School of Law in 2025, where she was named to the Dean’s List and was active in Phi Delta Phi Honor Society, the Association of Women Law Students, and served as an academic peer mentor. She also earned a Certificate in Advanced Legal Writing, Researching, and Drafting through Mercer’s certificate program.

She served as a summer associate with HunterMaclean in 2024. Sarah also previously interned with the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, where she worked under Magistrate Judge Christopher L. Ray.

Outside of work, Sarah enjoys spending time with her husband, Barrett, and their two dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and watching football and lacrosse.
