HunterMaclean attorneys John M. Tatum and Colin A. McRae were honored at the Savannah Bar Association year-end gathering, held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Savannah Golf Club.
Senior partner and former managing partner John Tatum received the Judge Frank Cheatham Professionalism Award, presented to the attorney within the legal community who best exemplifies professionalism in how he or she engages clients and members of the community as a whole. The award acknowledges individuals who pursue work on behalf of clients and the community as public servants, promoting justice and the public good. John Tatum has practiced law in Savannah with distinction for more than 40 years and has dedicated countless hours to community service throughout his career.
Colin McRae was installed as President of the Savannah Bar after serving over the past year as President-Elect and, prior to that, as Secretary. McRae, a partner at HunterMaclean who practices in business litigation, maritime, and logistics, received the Savannah Bar Association Robbie Robinson Award for outstanding service to the Savannah community in 2010.
The Savannah Bar Association (SBA) also installed Mathew McCoy of McCorkle & Johnson as President-Elect, Robert Hughes, III of Brannen, Searcy & Smith as Treasurer, and Maggie Puccini of Bouhan Falligant as Secretary.
The Judge Phyllis Kravitch Scholarship (for law students) was awarded to Savannah Law School student Meagan Rafferty, and the Judge Eugene Gadsden Scholarship (for HS seniors) was awarded to Savannah Arts Academy’s Amanda Royak.
