HunterMaclean Welcomes Matthew D. Gobel to Corporate Practice Group

HunterMaclean, a leading business law firm with offices in Savannah and St. Simons Island, recently announced that attorney Matt Gobel has joined the firm’s Corporate Practice Group.

Matt brings extensive experience in complex corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, minority equity investments, and corporate restructurings.

Before joining HunterMaclean, Matt practiced for nearly seven years in the corporate group at Jones Day, where he advised on major domestic and cross-border transactions for industry-leading clients such as Koch, Inc., Corpay, GE Aerospace, P&G, Milliken & Company, and Newell Brands. His experience spans a wide range of industries including aerospace, consumer goods, fintech, renewable energy, real estate investment, entertainment, and healthcare.

Originally from Savannah, Matt earned his B.A. in History and Political Science, magna cum laude, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Georgia. During law school, he served as an Articles Editor for the Georgia Law Review and has since returned to present to students on corporate law topics.

Matt is committed to public service and maintains an active pro bono practice, most recently providing legal assistance to immigrants seeking asylum in the United States. In addition, Matt and his wife are active members of Independent Presbyterian Church.
