HunterMaclean, a leading law firm with offices in Savannah and St. Simons Island, is pleased to announce that attorneys Mills Fleming and Ben Hartman were recently featured in Georgia Trend’s annual publication, Georgia 500. The feature highlights Georgia’s Most Influential Leaders, including business titans from throughout the state who have made an impact within their industry and community.

Mills Fleming is a longtime partner at HunterMaclean, primarily focusing on healthcare and immigration law. He is past president of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys, a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. In 2021, Governor Kemp appointed Mills to serve on the Bona Fide Coin Operated Amusement Machine Operator Advisory Board, which provides regulatory oversight to COAM businesses and prevents unauthorized cash payout. The board’s oversight helps protect the state’s fiscal stability, supports education in Georgia through the HOPE scholarship and pre-kindergarten funding, and improves public welfare. That same year, Governor Kemp also appointed Mills to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) which recommends candidates for vacancies in Georgia’s state, superior, and appellate courts. Mills was reappointed to the JNC in 2024. A longtime champion of the arts, Mills also previously served as chairman of the Lucas Theatre board of directors, raising more than $10 million to restore this historic theater built by his great-grandfather, Arthur Lucas, in 1921.

Ben Hartman is an established partner in the estates and trusts practice group and the corporate taxation practice group. He is the past president of the Brunswick-Glynn County Bar Association. In 2007, Ben was selected as one of Brunswick’s “20 Under 40” business leaders by Golden Isles Magazine. A dedicated advocate of his community, Ben is the chairman of the Katz-Helen and Ray Whittle, Jr. Foundation and serves on the boards of the College of Coastal Georgia Foundation and the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Georgia. Ben previously served as chairman of the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce from 2020 to 2021. During his term,  the Chamber’s Foundation was launched, with a focus on increasing minority participation in Leadership Glynn. That same year, the Chamber and the College of Coastal Georgia launched the Unify Breakfast, bringing together elected leaders of the City of Brunswick and Glynn County to foster dialogue, build relationships, break down silos and encourage collaboration within the business community. A graduate of Leadership Georgia and Leadership Glynn, Ben currently serves on the board of governors for the Georgia Chamber of Commerce.
